Extraco Banks® announced on June 23, 2023, it will begin construction on its new Downtown Temple branch on July 10, 2023. The 2,400 square foot branch will have video teller technology, four drive through lanes and an outdoor seating area between the new bank building and Treno Pizzeria.

In anticipation of construction, Extraco will close the motor bank located at the corner of S. 1st St & Ave A beginning June 24th, with drive-thru operations moving to deposit iTMs, Extra Banker video tellers, and branch location drive-thrus in the Bell County area. The current Downtown Temple branch lobby located in the tower at S. Main St. will remain open during construction, and will extend its lobby hours to 8am-4pm to better accommodate customers during this time.

“We’re looking forward to breaking ground on our new world-class Downtown Temple branch location,” said Doug Streater, President and CEO of Extraco Banks. “Construction on the new branch will take close to 1 year. We realize that the temporary closure of our downtown motor bank will inconvenience customers, but we hope once they see the new branch they will be as excited as we are about the new facility.”

In addition to the new Downtown Temple branch, Extraco recently completed a new College Station branch in December 2022, and will move its Gatesville branch to a new location in late 2023. They also completed a branch redesign at the Harker Heights branch, and are starting renovations of the Killeen branch in June 2023 as well.

“This new branch location is a reflection of our commitment to Downtown Temple and our north side customers,” continued Streater. “We’re proud of our central Texas heritage that started in Downtown Temple over 141 years ago.”
