- To qualify requires a valid e-mail address, receiving statements electronically, completing at least 10 debit card purchases monthly, and maintaining direct deposit or auto-debit. Up to $20 in foreign ATM fees reimbursed per month. For qualifying account with balances over $25,000, the Annual Percentage Yield ranges from 2.01% to 0.01% depending on balance. If qualifications are not met, 0.10% APY applies to the entire balance.

- Seniors benefits include free basic checks and up to five free cashier's checks, money orders, and single-signature traveler's checks per month.
- Up to $20 per month reimbursed for fees incurred at non Extraco ATMs provided account requirements are met. If requirements are not met, nominal interest will be paid and ATM fees are not reimbursed.
- No minimum balance required to maintain the account. However, if daily balance falls below $2500 during statement cycle, a $5 fee will be charged.

Opening an account is easy with Extraco. You can open an account conveniently online, by contacting the Customer Care Center, or by visiting one of our 15 financial centers. Please note that you must be at least 18 years of age, and a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien to open your account online. You'll also need four items to complete the account opening process:
- Social Security number
- A valid form of identification, such as a Driver's license, State ID, Military ID or Passport
- Previous home address, if you have lived at your current home address less than two years
- Credit card, debit card, U.S. checking or savings account number and bank routing number to fund your new account(s)
If using our online service, your application session will automatically time out if there is no activity for 15 minutes. This is for your protection. All information will be lost if this occurs.

Do I have to keep a minimum balance in my Big Rate Checking Account?
No. There is no minimum balance required to maintain your Big Rate Checking account.
What are the requirements to earn Big Rate rewards?- 10 or more VISA® Check24® debit card transactions per statement cycle
- At least one direct deposit or auto-draft on the account per month
- Log onto E-Bank once per month
- Maintain a valid e-mail address and receive electronic statements via email
You start over next month and work toward meeting the requirements to earn Big Rewards. If you do not meet the requirements for three statement cycles, or 90 days, then your account will convert to Free Checking.
How often can I access my funds?Access to your account is unlimited through ATM, Debit card, check, in-person, or preauthorization of transfer.
